Home Weatherization Services

Did you know that according to EPA estimates, Weatherization of your home can save you up to 20% on heating & cooling costs?  Home Weatherization (insulating & sealing your home) is considered to be the most effective way to improve  its energy efficiency & comfort.  Our Complete Home Weatherization (installation of rigid foam insulation behind siding, replacement of windows, doors, etc.) will increase energy efficiency of your home even  more and is estimated to save up to 40%* on your heating/cooling costs.

To create the most energy efficient home envelope, it's essential to insulate home's outer walls, ceiling, basement or a crawl space and at the same time replace old windows & doors with new and more energy efficient product.  Adding Styrofoam insulation on exterior sheathing (behind the siding) is perhaps one of the best ways to increase your home energy efficiency.  It is estimated that a typical house looses anywhere from 20%-30% of heat though the wall framing.  The wooden studs used in a typical home construction do not have as good of an R-Value as the regular insulation placed between the studs.  Estimated R Value of a regular 2x4 stud is R-4.375 and R value of a 2x6 stud is R-6.875 (approximately 1.25 per inch).  Therefore, installing additional insulation on exterior sheathing will create an Energy Efficient Envelope and increase the R-Value of your home.  In addition, this extra insulation will also help to protect your home from condensation problems, since you will no longer have any cold spots created by poorly insulated studs, headers, etc.
